CAST IRON WELDING

AW&M_Nov2018_0024.jpg

Welding of difficult material such as cast iron and aluminium is no problem to us.

Advantage Welding and Machining offers a large range of services from routine welding of steel to extremely specialised welding of cast iron, stainless steel and aluminium.  With 25+ years of experience in repairs to draw from, whether it’s a wheel rim or a large engine block this is not a problem to us.

Our long term experience on the job has provided us with valuable knowledge. We have developed procedures to control and utilise the variables needed to decide the right welding procedure and type of consumable used to produce quality repairs.  The products and specialised techniques used to produce repairs on steel and cast components, make the repair almost undetectable.

Included in our welding bay are (10) machines that are capable of TIG, MIG, or Stick.  Whether it’s repairing thin sheet metal or building up parts that are badly worn, we have the machine to do it. We also offer a full range of other welding services including hot spray and metal spray welding.

Mig welding is mainly used on materials like aluminium.  We also carry a range of specialised mig wires for different applications: strength, corrosion resistance, work hardening.

Stick welders can be used to weld almost any material.  The majority of our stick welding is performed on cast iron components, but we also stock a range of consumables to suit different applications.

Tig welding is used on delicate work pieces and to perform small weld repairs on components.  We have modified aluminium tanks, converted straight fuel tanks into fuel/hydraulic tanks and shortened tanks as required.  We also occasionally manufacture custom aluminium tanks to suit specific vehicles.

Arc spaying is another effective way to build up parts prone to distortion. Because arc spray wire is applied at lower temperatures, this increases the amount of parts that can be reclaimed.  These include bearing and seal surfaces on shafts and yokes, and internal diameters on transmission components, etc.  This saves you, the customer, time and money.
